Council of Elder Farmers

The Council is the governing body that oversees the maintenance as well as law making for the Island of Estile. Tradition holds that the Council be the head of the household that is able to maintain a farming patch of Tobacco. Well, in a more symbolic gesture in recent iterations of the system, these are the heads of the three biggest tobacco plantations in each of the major cities on the island.

While the original Elder Farmers were elected by the cities to deal with their issues between the cities, this is no longer the case. While the island has fostered a, how to say, mentality that each farm is very flammable. This local mentality has kept the Elder Farmers to hold the Island best interests at heart, rather than any business decision.

Though this isn't to say that the Farmers are not successful, they do hold the largest and longest standing companies on the island. They keep in the back of their minds the needs of the citizens, lest they feel the wrath they so longed to give that Galus Naval force.
