V'heild spooktober version

Don't like that they all have to be generic articles.

To go to the actual article. V'heild
V'heild Summary Take not lightly the noises of the wood, for there something stalking through the canopy. The snap of a branch is not coincidence, it’s a warning. It watches, it follows. The whisper on the wind is not a calming thing, you should worry. The silence of the forest is your first sign, for no bird or cricket is foolish enough to speak when it is near. You should be wary of seeing the wolves run away, the bears hide in the trees. The Giant Elk to huddle amongst their prey for security. You should be running too. She speaks through the trees, she is the ground you walk. She is kind to you, she wants you to stay. But, you should cover your ears and run. Fill them with sap, wax, or dirt, do not listen to her. She watches through the trees, she speaks through the air. The stars in the night sky are a lie, it was day a minute ago. Peer not into the light of those stars, to look into her eyes. Run, child, run. Be wary of the silence in the wood, be it prey, human, or predator. The V'heild is watching you. Cultural Reception Largely the Goblins tell this story to their children to teach them to pay attention while out in the forest. Many things can go wrong, many things can be missed, so it's better to teach them to pay attention early in life. The V'heild is believed to be a truly ancient ghost from times before the Dawn of Truths . The truth is much darker. The goblins will claim from time to time to have actually seen the spirit, a young woman who looks like their people, but not quite. The reactions from The Family range from a feeling of comfort to a not quite suspicion. To aptly describe it would be an immense feeling of The Uncanny Valley, to see something that looks so much like you, but isn't. Almost every story told about the V'heild revolves around her being sunken-eyed, skeletal, and with a disturbingly long tail. There are no reports of what happens if she catches you. In this humble Scholar's opinion; she will try to speak with you, for I have met her. Sad really, she has no tongue to speak, no functional vocal cords to speak of. She can only watch and reach out to those around her, I know. I understand oh Great Mother. I understand your pain...
