CC: Session 9: Recruitment and Retention Report
General Summary
With Boots in the hands of The Recruiter and Crumbs infected with a Seraph, the party had to act fast.
Charmed by the Recruiter and Danom, Boots laid down to be prepped for infestation. Moving with haste Carbide rushed to his aid, following the sound of bullets.
Vox, Mellow, and Axe searched for a back way to their friend, carrying Crumbs along with them. After making quick work of the remaining guards, they let Danom escape and headed deeper into the recruitment center.
Despite their best efforts to stop the Recruiter, Boots and Carbide were put into a mystical slumber - only awakening to more dire circumstances. Boots found himself strapped to a table, with a deep incision in his chest, and an egg reaching for its new host. Fighting against an ethereal trap, Carbide did their best to return to the action.
Killing each infested citizen, without mercy, Vox made their way to boots. Meanwhile, Mellow explored the educational side of Danom's. With Axe watching both of their backs and carrying crumbs, they caught a glimpse of Boots.
As the party surrounded a weakened recruiter, he made sure none of his secrets would ever leave. Removing his own memories, he became a blank slate as the egg hatched into Boots. Swiftly, Vox snatched the twisting bug and Carbide and Axe killed it.
In a fury, Boots beat the recruiter to death as Carbide watched over his shoulder. Mellow discovered a secret area with details on the leadership of the Knights of the Blighted Blade, and Vox decided to burn the place down.
Leaving nothing but flames behind them, they headed out into the streets. Acid quickly came to collect her cousin and explained that her aunt, Ghost, could help. She stated she would call if they needed any help from here.
At the same time a group of monks with Seraph iconography began walking by handing out flyers for their new temple dedicated to The Prophet.
Taking the rest of the day to wash up, the party ended the night at The Vault. Carbide bid on an OPD Riot Helm and gifted it to Boots.
That night Vox hacked into the central network hoping to learn more about Tagera HQ, they found only general information. With hopes of finding more, they hope to visit the library and obtain physical copies of the building's blue prints.
