Hames, The Rumbler, The Sailor's Sprite, The Bosun's Friend

Much like Gullus, Hames is seen as both a bringer of fortune and omens. Depictions vary by region, but he is most often imagined as a half-sized version of whatever race is talking about him, giving him a range of depictions that range from a kobold to something like a halfling. He is said to know all things ship-faring, and will let those lucky enough to be blessed by him know when something is wrong by creaking the rigging or rumbling on the hull of the ship with his heavy wooden pipe. He is also responsible for swabbing decks when nobody is looking, keeping the rum topped up and keeping the paint on the figurehead looking pristine.   Hames is benevolent, but it is seen as a great omen to see him on your ship. If he is smoking his pipe, expect your gunpowder to light soon, whether that's because battle is coming or because an explosive accident will happen. If he is seen helping himself to some food, your rations might run short or rot. And if he is seen scrubbing the deck, make for the nearest port, because this ship is destined for a watery grave.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The smoking pipe is Hames most often-used symbol, whether that be a simplistic carving hidden on a figurehead or an ornate carved pipe kept on the ship for good luck.
