Level 2 was once a prosperous area, teeming with abundant resources and a thriving community. The once-fertile soil now lay barren, devoid of any signs of life, save for the villanace spirits that lingered.
The desolation of Level 2 attracted a different kind of inhabitant, those who sought refuge from the law and those who dabbled in dark and forbidden arts. Demon worshipers, cultists, and practitioners of black magic saw this forsaken land as a sanctuary where they could practice their sinister rituals without fear of being arrested or hunted down.
Although Level 2 lacked the inherent power of black magic or a powerful demonic aura, the spirits that inhabited this level became the focus of worship for these outcasts. The spirits, known for their neutrality, found solace in the emptiness of the land. They became revered figures, their presence giving some semblance of meaning to the desolation.
Surviving on this level was a harrowing ordeal. The desolation and negative energy that permeated the barren wastes could drive people to madness. Nightmares and hallucinations haunted the minds of those who dared to stay, making it an inhospitable place for most. Only those who had embraced the darkest aspects of their craft or sought to commune with the spirits braved this forsaken land.
In recent times, whispers have spread like wildfire through the outcasts and cultists on Level 2. They speak of a unique request they wish to make to a powerful demon named Malphas. These worshipers have conducted numerous sacrifices in a desperate attempt to summon Malphas and present their request, their actions drawing even more darkness into the barren wasteland.
However, amidst the shadows and the rituals, rumors have also arisen about a legion of samurai warriors. These noble warriors, perhaps drawn by the rumors of dark forces and the summoning of Malphas, have ventured into the wastelands. Their mission is shrouded in mystery, but it is said that they are searching for a particular individual, someone whose presence in the High Tower has become a matter of utmost importance.
Level 2, the Barren Wastes, stands as a stark contrast to the prosperous and vibrant levels of the High Tower. It's a place where desperation, dark magic, and the pursuit of forbidden knowledge collide, all against a backdrop of desolation and haunting spirits. The presence of the samurai warriors adds an intriguing layer of mystery to the level, making it a central point of intrigue and danger within the tower's vast and diverse world.
