General Sir Arthur Halesworth

Arthur Halesworth's reputation as a mortal military man precedes his transition. He is famous for his tours in Africa and India where he was central to key victories that expanded British colonies and there is no doubt he was chosen by his sire for his exceptional talents. Sired by the equally famed Gangrel Haedde who was instrumental in the Gangrel joining the Camarilla, Arthur in turn enters the world of darkness with a prestigious legacy. He was originally sired in Suffolk in 1843 where his sire is Prince of the city, one of the few Gangrel to hold such a position. He was sent to London to represent the Gangrel in London with distinction and honor, a job he takes very seriously. Since his arrival in 1859, Arthur has been extremely political in support of the Camarilla but in particularly in working towards dismissing the stereotypes and assumptions about Gangrels being nothing more than wild beasts. He has been in the city only a short 2 decades and has already garnered the respect of the cities kindred through his well chosen words, wise political affiliations and extremely successful infiltration of Londons militia where he commands considerable clout. He known as an experienced and worldly pragmatist as well as an exceptional marksmen and has been heavily involved in pushing the invention of technology of firearms including some unique weaponry designed specifically for taking down kindred. He has participated in a number of blood hunts and has continued to earn a reputation as an experienced combatant as a kindred as he did when he was a mortal. It is clear that he has the ambition of becoming the Sheriff of London, though he does so openly and without any back alley politics showing tremendous patience and respect towards elder vampires who could make such a position a reality for him. Instead of political rivalry he hopes that he simply earns the position through his actions like every other commendation he had ever earned in his mortal life. Still despite all of his military experience and clear intelligence he is very much a young vampire and though one might not exactly call him a Neonate anymore, his understanding of Kindred politics is still lacking. If he were to become Sheriff he would be the youngest vampire to ever hold such a position but if there would ever be a candidate for such an honor, few would argue this is the kindred that could do it. Sir Arthur Halesworth is also a well known naturalist and the few political objections he has is the indiscriminate or perhaps better to say uninterested kindred politics that surround such topics as preservation of nature. Vampires simply don't care and don't consider it worth their time to manipulate mortals to behave responsibly. In London in particular the concept of natural preservation is barely a topic and there is no question that London is a destructive force working against the natural world. He is also a staunch atheist, which is not a new development, he was so as a mortal as well, considering the work of Charles Darwin to be the definitive truth of the origins of mortals, though certainly his ideology was shaken when he discovered the magical and largely scientifically inexplicable world of Vampires. Still he holds that simply calling it "magic" is ignorant and he believes firmly that a scientific explanation must exists and has on a number of occasion challenged the doctrine that often accompanies kindred views on their own origins, treating texts like the Book of Nod with the same disregard as the bible, just another invention to explain away ignorance of real truth simply because their is a lack of evidence.

Its clear while Arthur has a professional passion for becoming the sheriff of London, he has a personal passion to explain the origins of Vampires. Its not entirely clear which takes precedence, but he is well known for pursuing both passions vigorously.
