Ashyn

Goddess of Atonement, Redemption, and Compassion

The Everlight

God of atonement and compassion, Ashyn spreads the message of understanding and optimism in even the darkest of places. She believes that the corrupt can be redeemed, a mindset that led to a betrayal by the First Fiend, who decimated her followers during the Calamity. This misplaced trust caused many priests to strike her name from historical records, leaving her title and faith scattered to obscurity for much of the recent age. Only recently has her faith been rediscovered and her temples returned to prominence. The Everlight’s followers are often rural healers and community philosophers, offering a voice of reason and empathy in angry and cynical times.   The location of Ashyn's godstone remains a mystery even into the present day. After the Calamity due to a large majority of her followers being destroyed or forced into hiding, no one was around to witness Ashyn's final resting spot beside the gods themselves and its true home remains a story without an ending.

Depiction

Those who bring the Everlight’s words back to the light unearth her image from ruined temples, or create new art to inspire others with her message. Ashyn is represented as a beautiful, strong woman whose skin and hair lie entirely engulfed in soothing flames, rising betwixt a set of angelic ivory wings.

Enemies

The Prince of Darkness Raum seeks to destroy the Everlight's remaining followers at every step, and thus instead of allowing their goddess to fall into myth, they seek to expel all evil sent forward by the First Fiend. With the assistance of worshippers of the Changebringer, Ashyn's clerics and paladins seek to exalt locations of evil and malice that fiends hiding from their light would dwell within.

The Everlight’s holy day has been long forgotten, and her followers have yet to decide when her festival should be held and what the festivities should be. The debate has gone on for years, and no great miracles have yet been performed to unify the squabbling clerics.
