The banishment of Rhaast, the Hallowed Revenant, and the creation of the Ruined Isles was a historical event encompassing the final chance to stop Rhaast during his attempt to use the Rites of Ascension, the battle among the Ivory Isles between Rhaast and a fellowship of heroes from around Riven resulting in the destruction of the monastic kingdom and the creation of the Ruined Isles, a realm of death and decay that blinks across Riven like an untraceable ghost.
