The vehicles start a second nuclear apocalypse and their civilization crumbles.
Thinking they could control their power, the machines eventually ended their own civilization by launching the remaining atomic bombs that the humans had left behind. Amidst the destroyed remains of their infrastructure, it became impossible for them to sustain their population. Nations fell under infighting and raids.
