2.1 - The Periwinkle
General Summary
With the village of tribute fading in the distance, Wilhem heads to Rystanburg to confer with his mentor, and hopefully understand the strange power he now wields. With Vargan and Buck beside him, he boards The Periwinkle, a Kaldari Cargo Hauler with the promise to work on the ship to earn passage to the city.
The work was both grueling and dangerous, however the three of them show resilence far beyond their age, and quickly earn the respect of the ships captain and crew. The first night on the ship, they celebrate with drinks, games, and dinner (as is tradition for the first night of a voyage.) However Kyp, a young man who has also recently joined the crew falls overboard after overdrinking - and Declan Murdock and Sophitia Barrow, Farmer's Daughter , who unknown to Wihlem and friends were also on the ship, quickly alert the crew to the man over board.
Thinking fast, Declan, Wilhelm, and Buck join the capitain and his first mate on a lifeboat, and struggle to catch up with Kyp on the waves. Seizing the moment, Buck dives off the boat and swims out to the stranded Kyp - while almost being drowned and eaten by a shark - before being rescued by the boat and a quick miracle by Wilhelm.
The crew was drunk and confused enough to not question too deeply the group's supernatural resuce, and instead gave them the day off work in thanks for their assistance. Declan and Sophitia take this oppurtunity to catch the rest of the group up - sharing with them that they are on their way to Rystanburg to find a member of the The Vermyn Clan in Tribute in a desperate attempt to convince Basil to let them pass so they can find Sophitia's father, Cedric Barrows, Farmstead Owner.
Reunited at last, the group has only a few days to catch thier breath before danger strikes again. A supernatural fog descended upon the Perriwinkle - and the ship is ripped to a sudden stop just before dawn. The group barely has time to get to thier feet before swarms of Murlock scramble on board the ship - demanding to know where the "silver" is. The ship did it's best to fend off the attacks - with Vargan, Buck, and Declan quickly revealing their supernatural abilities in a desperate attempt to save the crew from the onslaught.
Facing off against the Murlock Skirmishers, Shellgaurd, and a Primalist commanding a giant Calamayr - the group managed to hold the waves of murlock off long enough to drive back the Calamayr tearing the perriwinkle apart - with Declan piercing the retrating primalist in the back with an arrow as he dissapeared into the salty black waters of the sea...
