Once per session, you make make an Exceptional Spellcasting maneuver. Then, when you are determining the strength of additional effects on the next spell you cast, you may suffer an amount of strain no greater than the ranks you have in that knowledge skill. Then, for each strain taken, you may increase the rank you have in that knowledge skill by 1 by each strain you took. In this case, your temporary ranks in Knowledge may exceed the usual limit of 5.
