5 - Teleportation

Teleportation   Tier: 5 Activation: Active (Action) Ranked: No Requirement: At least rank three in any single magic skill   Your character may take five strain and use this talent to make a Formidable ddddd Magic check. If they succeed, a Teleportation Portal opens at a location within short range, linking that location to any location fixed location in the world that the caster is familiar with. The GM may upgrade the difficulty of the check if the caster is unable to focus on the location - typically if they haven't been there for a while or weren't very familiar with the location to begin with. If you attempt to use this talent during a combat encounter, the difficult of the check becomes Impossible ddddd instead. (See Impossible Tasks for more details about how these checks work.)   The Teleportation Portal initially has a Silhouette Allowance of 1 when it is created - however you may add b to the check to increase the Silhouette Allowance by 1 for each b added to the check. Once the Silhouette limit has been reached or or an appropriate amount of time has passed as determined by the GM the portal closes and no further travel through it is possible.   Whenever your character uses this talent, your GM may spend d to have the teleportation miss the location by a range band per d spent, or may spend hhhh or d to have the teleportation go catastrophically wrong (by having a character materialize in a wall, another person, or midair, for instance, with the awful consequences to be determined by your GM).
