These devices started appearing from a distant land far to the east of Terrinoth, the Empire of Shenzhou. In that land, they are often used as part of an entertainer’s act. However, they are also used by the Ninja; elite assassins who serve their respective clans. They are now common enough in Terrinoth to be included in this section. Short bamboo sections are filled with salt, creating a jarring (and distracting, their main use for rogues) smack sound when set alight.
