Bloodsister Witch
While the vast majority of spellcasters in Alwaus channel their arcane energy from the life magic around them, channeling it from the air, earth, and water and into their bodies - there are some practitioners who gather power in a darker, more sinister way. Little is truly known about Bloodsister Witches, or the dark pacts they make with unnamed spirits to gain their powers. Like so many shadowy things; the truth of the matter is often mired in a swirling obsolescence of myth and superstition. Old Astorian folk legends say that witches steal children from their beds at night to use their blood in dark sacrifices to long dead celestials... but surely such stories are simply fabrications designed to keep human children well behaved and in their beds at night... Except that there are countless anecdotes of children simply vanishing from their homes in the middle of the night over the centuries. The townsfolk of course always blame the Bloodsister witches - when surely most of them simply ran away from their homes in the middle of the night. But still - the legends any myths surrounding Bloodsister Witches has had an unprecedented staying power of the millennia, with the earliest stories of beings contacting strange beings to gather magical power exists from even the earliest years of The Age of Alvain.
In reality however, most present day sightings of Bloodsisters can be attributed to shamanistic practitioners of primalist magics - not the kind of dark magic that is so often attributed to the withes themselves. What is known however, is that attempting to contact celestial spirits is strictly illegal, and furthermore casting spells without proper registration with The Collegiate Arcane is punishable with imprisonment and in some cases even death.
In all likelihood there is simply no way to bargain magical power from celestial spirits, and the Bloodsister Withces are merely a myth.
