Not quite as good as a shield, but at least your hand is free to wield a weapon, bucklers have long been a battlefield staple. This magical buckler is even more useful, as it is enchanted to aid in deflection of missile fire. Most Bucklers of Deflection are of Dwarven steel though some Gnomes are known to use them also. Of course, there is nothing to prevent other species from using them, they simply tend to use larger shields instead.
