Khepri

The Khepri are a reclusive race of giant beetle like creatures that dwell in the hardest and most desolate landscapes on Alwaus. Like most of the feral races, Khepri lack the intelligence to grasp the common language, and even among members of the same species communication is limited between Khepri, choosing instead to isolate themselves where they can live in relative exclusiveness.


Extremely territorial, reports of travelers stumbling onto a Khepri nest almost always feature fatalities. Burrowing deep underground, Khepri explode onto the surface with a literal earthshaking force. Anyone who survives the initial arrival of the great beetle quickly fall prey the beast's massive mandibles. On the front of the Khepri's face sits a powerful set of incisors that can generate enough force to cut an Ironclad in two. Furutre complicatging things is the fact that a Khepri's hide is near impenetrable to conventional arms, causing all but the powerful of attacks to bounce harmless off the creature's chiten hide.
