Small green cherries that grow along red-soil riverbanks, when fermented the berries have a alcoholic content much higher than most other non-distilled alcohols. Similar in taste to absinthe, the cherries are often used as a cheaper alternative to wormwood in the distillation of spirits or eaten whole as a remedy for hangovers.
