R - Riding Camel

  "They left a carrion trail of dead men and horses behind them as they fled east across the desert. For four days and five nights they fled across burning sands and sweltering heats. When they arrived at the river only the camels and those fortunate enough to be mounted on them survived the journey."
  In the dry savannahs and desserts of Alwaus, the conditions are less suitable for the horses common throughout most of Alwaus. Instead cultures favor creatures better adapted for the hot climates, with Camels (both one hump and two hump variants) being the most common place choice for mounts. Notable for their long necks and llama-like faces, camels are undoubtably recognized for the notable fatty-deposts or "humps" along their backs - which allow the creatures their legendary resilience in unbearable enviroments.
