A powerful enchantment usually cast over a mundane object small enough to fit in the bearer's palm, a reactive arcane shield is an experimental and potentially unstable method of personal defense. When the enchantment detects an attack agains its bearer it immediately responds by protecting its host with a shimmer semi-transparent arcane shield that defects and absorbs the impact of an blow. The effect is not subtle, and the attacker is immediately aware that their target is being protected by arcane means. 


Note: this is listed as an armour piece however does not physically consist fo anything other than the enchanted object. As such, the player is recommend to wear the reative arcane shield paired with a type of clothing suitable for their current location. Any benefits from the clothing worn under the reactive arcane shield do not grant further benefits however at the GMs descretion they can choose to include specific benefits from the underclothing - such as ranks in the Prestige of Shabby quality or even environmental effects such as Breathable.
