Sandfruit

A nest of small red berries that grows on Cactus in the south west of Alwaus, sandfruit earns its name through it's coarse grainy texture and dry bitter taste when consumed. While the berries may appear nurturing (especially to those desperate souls lost in desert) the seeds of the berries are incredibly dry and consume moisture at a incredibly fast rate. While typically safe if consumed by those with a reliable source of water, the berries have been known to kill their consumers through the rapid onset of dehydration, often in an environment where the resupply of water rations is hours or days away.
