The Primalist

The Collegiate Arcane holds a tight reign of control over magic users in the empire. Undisciplined magic can too easily tie to the user's emotions, and as such there is a strict ban on uncontrolled or "primal" magic users in the major races of Alwaus.


While uncommon, magical users can go unnoticed by The Empire, and may even seek out training from groups outside of the control of The Collegiate Arcane. How or where Vargan The Forester learned his primal powers is a mystery, but it is likely only a piece of the complex puzzle that is Vargan's history.


For the first time in his life, Vargan felt comfortable enough to speak openly about his nature with humans, and told Wilhelm, Father In Tribute and Bartholo Buck Barcanous that he is in fact a Lycean.
