The Wardens

The Wardens are a specialized garrison stationed within most of the major cities in Alwaus. While the local garrison and townsguard look after the majority of crime in a city, The Wardens handle investigations and duties that they deem above the station or abilities of the local guard. Answerable only to representatives of The Alvain, they are given near limitless authority to conduct their duties, provided they do not interfere with the affairs of the Alvain dynasties. Unlike a town's guard, most Wardens are not local to the cities in which they serve, as they are usually intentionally assigned to areas that they are unfamiliar with. This is intended to prevent favoritism or corruption, and ensure that their judgement is not impaired in their duties.
