Vamphire Lord

Immortal beings of great intellect and magic, often hidden in the dark but comfortable corners of human civilization where they can direct society as their plaything.

There are few species in Alwaus as old and powerful as the Alvain. The Kinderstärke are among the oldest and most prominent, but even they are a young race when compared to the long lives of some of the earliest of The Alvain. In truth, only the ancient Vamphire's can claim a history as long a storied as the Alvain - and their version of history is marked with even more blood, subterfuge, and cruelty than that of Alvantis.
A reclusive, introverted species, Vamphire's prefer to revel in the luxury and privacy of their lairs, instead using enthralled servants to do their bidding and ensure their thirst for life giving blood is fully satisfied. Of the few Vamphire's that are believed to be remaining, the oldest and most powerful of these creatures are referred to a Vamphire Lords. Often they rule entire societies in secret, their cunning magics and immortal patience allowing them to sink their claws into some of the greatest human cities ever erected. Rarely seen in public, Vamphire lords instead choose to rule from the shadows, often through agents and thralls that they have bargained or broken to their wills. Such positions of power are dangerous for an Vamphire however, as the Alvain see the vamphire's as a blight on immortal life, and detection of a vamphire lord will almost always result in death.
