Crystalline Scorpions

Crystalline Scorpions

Crystalline scorpions are common amongst the desert of Enteroi, often found by the sandstone caves, these scorpions are a treasure of wealth for numerous reasons.

Treasure

These scorpions are often sort after for their crystalline exo-skeleton. Rare gems are also seen embedded in its exo-skeleton from its nightly rituals. Living scorpions are even more sort after on the black market for their poison and their excrement, these arachnid creatures will rarely excrete a potent magical gem that can be used as a replacement for ingredients in high level magical rituals.

Rare Forms

Some unlucky adventurers find themselves in the throngs of a swarm of scorpions led by more intelligent forms. Those swarms led by alphas are often dangerous as they begin to hunt in packs and use what appears to be more intelligent strategies of war, such as surrounding their prey to cut off forms of escape, and using their reach with their tails to keep their enemies at bay.   Even unluckier adventurers will find themselves in the presence of a Mother Scorpion, rarely has someone come back from such an encounter and often the tails they share are woeful and filled with tragedy. Though most adventurers will be glad to hear that a Mother Scorpion has never been seen outside of the cave systems.

Fighting Tactics

The scorpions by themselves don't pose much of a threat, however those under the order of an alpha will surround their prey, and using the reach of their tail corner the prey by a wall, quickly jabbing at the creature until it falls unconscious by the poison spreading through it's system. Scorpions by themselves will fight aggressively and attack widely using any means necessary to subdue their prey.
