Elves

Elves are a naturally slender and athletic race with pointed ears that is often perceived as fair and beautiful by the other races. They possess keen eyesight and can see better in the dark than the average human. Usually standing around 5 to 6 feet tall and having a naturally slim body, they are also naturally entirely hairless save for their eyebrows, eyelashs, and the hair on their heads. This also means that male elves do not possess the ability to grow beards. They are also one of the longest living races; possessing a life span of up to 750 years and sometimes beyond.
Being closely connected to fey and the feywild, their fey ancestry makes them immune to magic that would put them to sleep or charm them. They also dont sleep like most other races do. Instead entering a trance-like meditative state they call "Reverie" where they can perform mental exercises to refresh their body and mind and reflect on happenings and even relive memories. Elves still can fall asleep like normal but usually only do so when severely ill, and always prefer to enter the reverie state instead. One exception though being drow elves who do actually prefer to fall asleep rather than enter reverie and some drow elves have even started to be born without the ability to enter reverie at all.
Elves can vary greatly but are mostly grouped into 3 subraces, those being high elves, wood elves, and drow elves. Wood elves tend to stick to heavily forested areas or wide open plains, with the particular group usually living high up in the branches of tall trees in tree houses or as nomads, travelling from place to place in great wagon caravans; While high elves usually settle in one spot and erect large stone cities of their own with signature elven architecture. Being such a widespread race they are known to inter-mingle with other races and as such there is usually some substantial half-elf population in most cities.
