Caisleán

The ancient fortified capital city of the Elves, Caisleán was once a vibrant city, filled with music and learning. It was known as the place to be for culture and academics, with a massive university that was attended by people of all backgrounds from across the world. Caisleán U was especially known for its faculty of trained planeswalkers and adventurers.
While nobody knows truly how the calamity began, several elven histories speak of rifts opening across the world, with the biggest being The Wound in the south, and one appearing in a lab dedicated to interplanar research within the university's walls. In a matter of hours, the Shadow Demons had ripped through the academics and destroyed their great library, killing the king and many of his men when they rushed to defend the city.
By all accounts, Caisleán had evacuated its civilians to The Grand Necropolis and mustered its military in a matter of a half hour, with the crown prince holding off the horde and eventually managing to break away to join the group of allied races in The Haim led by the woman who would become The Goddess. This efficiency and skill did not save the city; Caisleán was the first full city to fall to the demons and is still infested with darkness today.
