Human History
While we know dwarves were bred in the arctic tundras, halflings in the forests of The Tre, Leonin and Firbolg in the Wehikiyànkw and that gnomes ran here from the Feywild - offshoots of an ancestor who wanted to taste mortality - humanity's earliest homes are largely unknown.
Some would argue that they come from a different place altogether, but this is largely dismissed as balderdash by most historians and religious experts. Afterall, how could the emperor and his mother, Our Lady of Grace, be so well suited to defending this land were humanity not part of it?
Humans are the dominant species on this planet, hardy and clever and able to handle almost any environment. The empire is mostly made from humans, and will send humans to settle any land discovered. They are usually the best for the job.
