A message for those outside the bounds of the empire: a wise nation removes its dependence on other nations in order to keep its independence. If a nation cannot survive without a neighbour it is only a matter of time before it is sublimated into that neighbor.

The friendly traders the empire sends are envoys of your destruction; they aim to ensure that they are the only vendors of vital supplies and develop your dependence.

In older times conquerors would allow the people they conquered to keep their religions, but the empire does not. It wishes to scour everything that makes you unique from you.
