Confirmation of Mastery
The Confirmation of Mastery is the final part of the long ritual one must take to achieve the rank of Master Biomaster.
To reach this point, a Biomancer must showcase their skills and knowledge of Biomancy, gain the patronage of at least one Master Biomancer and have a selection of extant innovations or inventions to their name. An optional task includes some form of trial.
Once an aspiring Master has passed all of the above trials, they will be granted the right to gain their Mastery. In Kazed, the ritual of Confirmation most often happens in the capital of Tzemno Spire in the Grand Cathedral. The ritual is overseen by a selection of Master Biomancers, representatives of the Sovereign and Conclave, the patron/supporting Masters and members of the aspiring Master's House (at the bare minimum his or her House Head, immediate family and close friends). The presiding Masters detail all of the achievements of the prospective Master that shows they are qualified for the title. It is tradition for the aspirant to show off their skill in their most favored art as a simple demonstration to affirm their capability. The presiding Masters then hand to the new Master two items. The first item is typically some form of scepter or an item that can fit into ones hand. This will be a custom made tool made either by the House of the new Master or a custom gift made by House Bnitev. This is a common item used to showcase an individual's rank of Master. The second item will be a cloak (or a piece of armor or other wearable object) with the traditional mark of the branch of Biomancy the Master specializes in or most favors. This is the other main signifier of Mastery. Once these items have been given to the new Master, the ceremony concludes with a grand feast.
New Master Biomancers will usually be invited to announce their attainment of Mastery in the next Conclave session due to the high honor and power the rank is granted. It is also standard for most Houses to host a private ceremony after the official Confirmation has concluded before the whole of the House.
