Ivar Island

Ivar is a small island located north of Edengaard, consisting of dense jungles and step mountains. The island itself has passed between the rule of local cults, Anorians Imperials, and settlers from all across The Reach throughout history. Originally being home to one of the few Yuan-Ti populations in all of The Reach, it was most populous around the 4th Millennium of the Second Age, when the Anorian Empire built of a fortification along the southern coast of the Island.

Geography

The Island itself is evenly round along all side, and is covered in a dense jungle all across it's land mass. Two notable features are the Anorian Fortification on the southern side of the Island as well as the ancient temples that are hidden among the rock cliffs of the northern portion of the island.

History

The Island has past between different rulers and owners all throughout history. The most notable times in it's history are when it served as some sort of Holy Temple for a people group that is no longer known about that existed around the beginning and middle of the third millennium of The Second Age. Almost two thousands years after the, the Anorian Empire took over the island, pushing the local population into the jungle as they built a military fortress to serve as a outpost for ships to set sail into Old Salt during the Anorian attacks on the region. After three hundred years of occupation, the fort was abandoned when the Anorian Empire turned it's attention away from Old Salt, and towards the Grand Republic of Durham.
