Stoneleaf

As the stone quarry west of Daring Heights grew and grew, the collection of shacks and sleeping bunks present to house the miners and various technicians became inadequate and with a large amount of building material readily at hand, a small hamlet soon sprang up, known as Stoneleaf. One of the various tiny gatherings of buildings between The Sunset Spine and The Frog Bog, this is certainly the most functional.
A small collection of houses and other communal buildings sits in a small vale amongst the hills a short walk from the quarry, by a small stream coming down from the mountains. Naturally, the village is almost entirely made of Sunset Stone, mostly rougher cuts. Zara Stoutarm, who was in charge of the mining operations, also had a house here. A few large gardens were created to provide food to the people there, though food was largely delivered in wagonloads from Daring down the road. It was quite idyllic in its heydey, though it now stands empty and half in ruins.
The population of Stoneleaf included miners, engineers, gemcutters, masons and other related professions for the processing and expansion of the quarry. Unfortunately, in the chaos of the orc invasion, the village was abandoned and undead were later reported throughout Stoneleaf. Adventurers have now cleared the area, but the whole quarry is still largely derelict, waiting for an enterprising soul to begin full scale operations once again. One of the complicating factors in this is that the quarry's mining efforts have turned up multiple crypts and other burial sites buried in the mountainside, with various traps that have required further adventuring expeditions to secure.
