Trecorvum Discward Infirmary

As Harnash rejects much of religion and the divine healing that comes with it, this task falls to both mundane means as well as the efforts of arcane and natural spellcasters. This means that one of the main magical forms of healing in the country is music. On the northern side of Trecorvum sits one of the main medical facilities for the city, a place constantly echoing with gentle songs of rest and recuperation - the Trecorvum Discward Infirmary.   A facility focused as much on research and teaching as it is on recovery, many young doctors and dolceurs (a term sometimes used for bards focused on healing) finished their training here, often moving on to practice medicine across Harnash or beyond. Everything from stitches to poultices to songs of healing can be learned here, and combining these skills is seen as essential. Even the most tone-incapable doctor should be able to hum a curative tune, and even the most diva-like bard should know how to set a bone. A quartet of dolceurs in particular is always kept in residence to maintain a light air of rejuvenation throughout the building. To step into the TDI is to feel more whole, and some people will simply sit in bright, open atrium to feel the benefit.   Not all are content to maintain a peaceful, restful atmosphere though. Beyond the front-of-house rooms and infirmary wards are the surgical theatres and the research conservatories. The term 'theatre' comes in to its full meaning here when a notable bardic healer commands the central stage in order to demonstrate some new remarkable cure or other incredible feat of musical healing. Here the greatest medical challenges are tackled - life-threatening injuries, curses, petrification, demon-possession or even bringing some back from beyond the edge of death. Given the potential for a popular figure to one day ascend to the The Twin Throned Promonotory, it's small wonder that some try and make a name for themselves as legendary healers. Whether this striving for fame and glory is good for the patients though is perhaps not a study that anyone is willing to undertake.
