Daring Heights falls to Orcs and Xvarts

Daring Heights is attacked by a force of nearly 3,000 orcs and xvarts, and the town is lost.

The local Xvart population had been given a challenge by their god, Raxivort: "Make yourselves worthy of me." He'd even given them a fraction of his power to see what they could accomplish. They decided that they would use this power, combined with the unique properties of the portal in Daring Heights, to open a pathway to the demiplane Raxivort resided on.   To obtain the portal, they convinced an orcish horde of the vast wealth and plunder to be had in Daring Heights, and soon the entire horde had mobilised and began to march towards the city.   Aurelia summoned a fortress from the earth itself to defend Daring Heights, though in her haste she constructed it outside of the town walls - perhaps not the soundest tactical move. Ultimately the fight came in two parts - the bulk of the armed forces holding back the vast orc horde at the fortress, and a band of volunteer adventurers staying behind in Daring Heights to defend the portal against the Xvarts.   The adventurers in town were successful, defeating the Xvarts and disrupting the ritual to redirect the portal. The army however, was sadly overwhelmed by the vast forces and the town was lost. The citizens of Daring had been evacuated already through the portal to Faerûn, and so the final adventurers made their way through as well, with Aurelia destroying the portal behind them to prevent the orcs following them.
