Meladic war-clippers spelled the end for the city. While the Ulanshi navy had its galleons, the war-clippers could out-maneuver them up the river. The Sunset Quarter was bathed in red, and the Silksquare burnt. Meladic forces overtook the walls after besieging the manor... and the city was put under martial law.

Bradan Autonomous City, formerly known as Taoul Kapral, is the capital of the Ulanshi Empire of the Eternal Sun. Bradan was once owned by the Ulanshi government, but it is now under new management, that of Mayor Emil Bradan of the 16th Legion. In the Siege of Taoul, the 16th Legion took command of the city.

While the city of Bradan is now semi-independent, it is in quite a tumultuous position: both factions in the brewing civil war of Ulan wish to take control and Melada seeks to fully absorb it into its borders. While the scars from the siege have mostly healed, the tensions only continue to rise.
