Cloudsea

The Cloudsea used to be the island containing the capital city of the Empire, Bocchemelle. In the distant past, the Cloudsea took over; now the island is nothing but rock spires underneath a swirling storm. It is said that the city of twin rivers still exists, in pieces, in the sky. It is also said that the Drow have inhabited the land beneath, thanks to the rocks above blocking off the sun.
Strange beasts and stranger tides await all travelers who pass for it, and no sane vessel makes a run through it. It is said that the Cloudsea has cut off the only safe passage to the Continent, and only the dangerous, longer and deeper routes are available now.
