Dunefalle

Opulent, cosmopolitan, calculating. The Kingdom of the Isles and a beacon of stability upon the fractured Continent, Dunefalle is a kingdom forged from the remnants of five predecessors, fused together over centuries through force of will, religious conversion and the might of their fleets.    In the past, the Kingdoms of Florainet, Aiseleur, Casseil, Bourge and Corben occupied a great archipelago of islands and a healthy portion of The Continent. All five were in the constant throes of bitter war with one another, but one by one they were unified under the emergent banner of a new power; that of Ergent Dunefallar. An upstart Duc from Aiseleur who followed the teachings of an obscure prophet known as Resshe, Ergent's military and diplomatic prowess soon saw them casting down the corrupt king of their homeland. Once their rule was assured, they set about making peace with their enemies, turning rivals upon one another, and carefully manipulating the egos and ires of the other four kings until each among them were so weakened that they could not stop Ergent's sudden invasions of their lands. Ergent took the crowns of the defeated kings, melted them down in Aiseleur's mighty furnaces, and had regalia forged from the precious metals that is used by the King of Dunefalle to this day. Five kingdoms became one, never to be unbound, and the words of Resshe swept through the lands like wildfire.

Structure

The Kingdom of Dunefalle is made up of the remnants of five great kingdoms forged into one; Florainet, Aiseleur, Casseil, Bourge and Corben. The old palaces of each absorbed kingdom are ruled over by an Archduc, who then answers to the King of Dunefalle.

Foreign Relations

Dunefalle has recently engaged in territorial disputes with Norvalled, leading to a protracted war between the two great nations that bloodied both sides but resolved little.    They have also leveraged their financial assets to gain a foothold within the Kingdom of Banteave during their recent financial crisis, and one of the prominent Houses of Dunefalle, House Luneste, has acquired several holdings within their domain.
