Gaffe (JAF-FE)
Gaffe
Gaffe are religeous soldiers and guardians dedicated to a specific temple and act as both the protectorate and spiritual guide for pilgrims to the temple. They can perform religeous ceremonies pertaining to the god they serve if the Lector Wa'eb or any Wa'eb is not available. They often live within the temple, never traveling far from the grounds, except for divine orders from their god or Pharaoh. There’s usually only one Gaffe assigned to a temple with the possibility of another being trained.Career
Qualifications
Gaffe are both Militaristic and Religeous. many start out as soldiers and then feel a calling to a god. Though this isn't the only requirement. They must have Akhu, the gift granted from the gods, otherwise they'd be just Katapesh
Payment & Reimbursement
Gaffe do not have a salary as it's much a lifetime commitment. However if there is a calling, either the Pharaoh, the vizor, or the Temple itself will provide currency or chits for reembursment for the Gaffe's journey.
Other Benefits
Gaffe get room and board at their assigned temple and access to the temple's documentation, both religeous and mundane.
Perception
Purpose
Gaffe have the dual role of soldier and priest. they can command a unit of Katapesh as well as perform services that the Wa'eb would. While it is said they explicitly protect and guide the faithful, in the context of a pantheon of gods, that usually means everyone.
