Ghoul
Ghouls in Khemit are not technically undead, their Ka (Spirit energy) has been corrupted by Ghoul Fever (a disease which causes Ka corruption). This disease can come directly from a bite or scratch from a Ghoul or slowly through the consumption of Mumia (the consumption of mummies like a drug). But because their Ka is more negative than positive, they are affected by the Akhu abilities of the Wa'eb (cleric).
Wounds do not heal fast or completely. the lost of extremities (fingers, toes, nose, eye) are common and usually are not fatal even without treatment.
Basic Information
Anatomy
from the progenitor species, their jaw becomes distended and canines more pronounced. their skin is pale and blotchy. nails grow tough and long. their hair stops growing, so older ghouls are balder or mangy looking.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They eat living flesh. more specificaly sentient species flesh in order to rejouvinate their Ka energy.
Ghoul - is the Hyborian word for such creatures, while Ghul is Khemitian word. Though there is a few distinctions. Ghouls are more animalistic, having lost their Ba as part of the corruption of Ka. Ghuls have not lost their Ba, but would have difficulties curbing their dietary needs.
