Freeing the Captives

General Summary

The The Knights of the Gline have a plan to disrupt the renovations of Neverwinter Castle. They are to free the enslaved workers. This is made more difficult by the city being on lockdown.   The Dead Rats have agreed to assist.   The workers are housed outside the city walls in the old Camp Vengeance. It will be well defended. The Rats can get the party across the city and through the gates.   While waiting for darkness to fall Varis learns about some mysterious flying creatures. Norbit gathers that the creatures are living in the ruins of Castle Never, while Meldor believes that the beasts originate in the Shadowfell.   Shelach herself leads the party through the city, leaving them outside the city walls after bribing a guard at the gatehouse. Camp Vengeance appears out of the darkness, surrounded by a pit and reinforced wooden walls. There are watch towers at each corner and Ollie is able to identify armed guards on patrol.   A vicious battle ensues, when ultimately the prisoners are freed and lead from the fort. The Knights take off into the darkness.   The dark of the night is shattered by cracks of lightening briefly illuminating an ominous dark shadow winging its way from the city. Guarding the fleeing workers, the party flees to the hoped safety of Neverwinter Woods.
