Nomley Belldek
Nomley Belldek is the famed confectioner of Crowmere Classic Candy, a candy shop that has been in business at the Crowmere Market Square for over 300 years. Famous for his unique, magically-seasoned "Scoop of Surprises", his business supplies high-grade candy within Sedia, as well as exporting small batches offshore.
About
Nomley is a older dwarven man. He is darker skinned, stands around 4'3", sporting a long greying beard (once black) which is kept braided and beaded with bright, colourful beads; for food hygiene reasons. He is known for his unusual glasses, which look as though the rims are made of candy cane.Business History
Nomley was born into his business, though when he inherited it at the young age of 32, it was already failing. An eccentric dreamer of a child, Nomley originally didn't want anything to do with his parents' candy business. Although he had learned the basics of candy-making as a small child, he had since travelled to Astrellos during his teenage years to undertake a degree of Wizardry. When both of his parents unexpectedly passed away in a carriage accident, he suddenly inherited the business and felt obligated to continue their legacy. He dropped out of the Academy, and returned home to scrounge the shop together. In a desperate bid to attract more customers, he experimented with infusing candy with magic. Over the next few months, he had enough prototypes to bring his "Scoop of Surprises" to life, an idea he first trialled at the bustling Crowmere Markets, to great success. The travelling caravans of sea elves told of the wonderous sweets across Sedia, and within the end of the year, Nomley had made enough to renovate his store and make Crowmere Classic Candy a household name. He has since had other business successes, such as his famous and unique salted peppermints, and his throat-soothing butterscotch "Sugar Soothers".Family and Personal History
Nomley's complicated family history is well known. He has an estranged wife who lives in Brixton, rumoured to have left him because of his workaholic tendencies. She now has her own liquorice business by the coast, specialising in a salted licorice that Nomley said was a "blatant idea-theft" of his famous salted peppermints. Long given-up on the idea of having children of his own, Nomley's closest companion is his tiny pet weasel, Toots. It is said that Nomley plans on choosing a trusted confectioner from his shop to be his successor one day; however, his staffing situation is as equally tumultuous as his family life. He is said to be a strict and unfair boss, and his staff retention is very low.
