Lepids
The Lepids are a secretive race that hide away in darkened caves, far from civilisation in the cursed land of the Mad Plateaus.
With eyes too sensitive for the daylight, they leave their caves to hunt at night, silently fluttering around the stacks in search of sustanence. Their primary food source, Bullettes that are drawn up from the earth by the Mad Plateaus' nature, are hardy foes but once brought down the carcass may feed a whole tribe for upwards of a week.
The small communal dwellings of the lepids are simple but carefully chosen. Once hosting rivers that erroded through the stone, the caves of the Mad Plateaus occasionally link to aquafers deeper into the earth which are necessary for survival in the desert landscape. When such a space is found, the lepids are quick to alot the space therein for all the basics of their survival, designating areas for food storage, waste disposal, hatching and sleeping. Beyong these necesities, larger caves have been known to have training grounds, prisons, kennels and more. Any excess entrances are blocked up, leaving only the most defendable, typically raised from the ground as to make attack from the other sapient rasidents of the Plateaus, the evil gnolls, more difficult.
