Banhi Widefoot

The first of a series of Hindi names implying the existence of another continent, but is in fact a group of humans escaped from the plane of devils, hidden in the far North in underground vaults, carrying with them weapons of change (radiation). Great barrels of change were used to mask their escape, weakening humans loyal to the devils, turning them away from fear of plague. Some have become adjusted to the lands, and began the magical awakening of the human subrace. Others, find the lands impossible to adjust to. 
Banhi lead a group of four away from the vault, by misfortune stumbling across a coven of sea hags, and bargaining the lives of her fellows in exchange for powers. The hags deceived her, instead cursing her by transforming into rabbitfolk, cackling about the powers of jumping and digestion, pulling the companions underwater. However, the hags did not act with caution, and their boon of good luck transferred to Banhi, dooming her to be pursued by their agents until death.
