The ascendence of Moloch

Page 179 Mord's tome   Moloch is an exiled devil, who is trying to force his return to the nine hells. He is meddling with the material plane, particulalry this world, in an attempt to build a powerful enough force to invade the nine hells and re-establish himself as an arch devil. He makes pacts with mortals and grants wishes in exchange for servitude and demented pleasure. This wishes always end up twisted by the end. Moloch is a proven demon hunter killer, a strong fighter and evil plotter. He saw opportunity in the meddling of the maddened wandering stone giant, and took advantage, bargaining a pact promising to wake the giant up from the dreamland, instead turning him into a powerful sorcerer bound to him by a powerful contract, showing him the truth of his actions and driving the giant further into madness, becoming his lackey. The devil has made contact with several powerful figures including the hags. He sends his demons to negotiate contracts amongst the struggling mortals disadvantaged by the environment he created. He will continue to create servants in life, and force them into servitude in undeath.   He acts now of all times with the threat of the prophecy of Yeenagu's return to torch the world once more. He reasons that by securing a foothold, he will be able to face the arch demon and claim the world for his own dominion, gambling on the ability to use his success to bolster enough support to re-enter hell and claim a layer for his own kingdom. He doesn't know of the elven mage, nor would he much care. His sole intentions are to expand his own influence at the expense of his opposition the demon lord.   His chief operative is a blue ashida, a devilish collector of ancient knowledge, which it uses to pledge mortals into bargains where he grants them something from his mind at a very high and often unspecified cost. One example was granting the dhampir the knowledge of their creation, and the location of their vampiric elders, but when the elders were found, they had been captured and replaced by devilish spirits, leading the Dhampir to become a directly if secretly governed faction.
