The Outer Wilds

Information

The wet swampland of the outerwilds, is a merciless place. Untamed by Men and Dwarf alike, and even the ever magically intune Elves keep their distance. The wet marshes are treachrous and full of hungry flesh devouring beasts. Survival is the only order that persists in the swamp. The land being home to all manner of cold blooded creature. A conscience for what is just and good, would only hinder one's own chance of survival.

Ecosystem

The outer wilds inhabitants consist of dinosaurs, serpents, amphibians, and all manner of reptillians. These cold blooded creatures feast on eachother and fight for dominion of there respected terittories. While most creatures in the marsh simply exist to survive, some have trancended basic instint and have formed primitive tribal societies.

Inhabitants and Culture

LizardFolk: A animalistic and primitive being, the lizard men of the black marshes. Abundant, ferocious, and territorial these giant lizards stand on two feet like other more civilized races, but lack the capacity for much more. They are splintered into multiple tribes that are locked into constant conflict over territory hunting rights. Although little is known about the nuances of their tribal culture, it seems they respect a higharchy of sorts. The more merciless and violent the more respected and at the top a kind of lizard oracle. This lizardfolk shaman of sorts leads the tribe. The religion of these brutal lizard men worship the dragons of times passed long ago.
Grung: Amphibious malevolent things, these frog men terrorize anything weaker then themselves. Thank divinity that these vermin aren't strong or intelligent. These creatures often form small tribes, and often fight amongst themselves. Commonly hunted and eaten by the lizardfolk, they hold no candle to the flame of the world. These creatures are often enslaved by otther races of the swamplands.
Yuan-ti: The most advanced beings of the swamp lands, and possibly the most wicked, The yuan-ti serve their serpent lord. When men were banished from the ancient wood, they split into tribes and searched far in wide for a new home. Men journeyed into the outer wild and found themselves terrized by the reptillian creatures that presided there. Many were drove into the desert and beyond, driven further south, but some men remained and were seduced by the call of an ancient being.
A great serpent offered kinship with the humans of the swamp. He offered a survival in the unforgiving land, and to gift upon humanity power. In return he requested maidens to devour, desperate men offered up their wives to the great serpant, and so the ancienct covenant was formed. 
The generations passed, and with each passing they became less human and more serpant. That is the Yuan-ti as we know them today, partly snake and partly men. They stalk the swamps serving the great serpent, sometimes invading foreign lands to steal maidens for their gluttoness God.
