Around 1330DR, a pregnant slave girl managed to escape her corsair captors and washed up on the isle home to Kusmu. As she washed up on the Northern shores of the isle she was found and taken in by the Baron of Maples, Sadeq Maple. District Leader of North Kusmu, and owner of a large maple tree orchard that is used to harvest syrup, sap, sugar, and wood. While on their way back to the estates, the slave girl who was only known by Bianca, went into labor and gave birth to her first child, Jasna. The Baron felt as though this women, child, and himself where fated to have met and become entwined in life. He brought the slave and her child to his estate and allowed them to live there freely. Over the years Bianca would fall in love with the man who helped give her a new life. The Baron did not even harbor any kind of animosity for Jasna, to him she was as good as his own blood. Jasna would be the eldest of six children. Four brothers and a sister in that order. Jasna's childhood was rich and fun. She loved her family more than anything in the world, well more than everything except bees. A natural resident of isle, bees of all kinds use Kusmu as a migrating and breeding ground. Honeybees were the most common in the Maple Orchards, and thus were Jasna's favorite. She was adventurous especially after the birth of her third brother. She always stayed ahead on her studies so she could go and wander north past the orchards to adventure. The first time she met the ram centaur, Hyronia. A druid of Mellinora who claimed that Jasna was born under a very special star that indicated she very well could be integral to the fulfillment of a prophecy Mellinora herself was intent on making come true. Hyronia would check up and befriend Jasna, teaching her about her latent abilities that Mellinora gifted her, such as talking to insects and the druid language. Shortly after the birth of Jasna's sister, Sadeq Maple, was imprisoned by raiding corsairs taking slaves for the Utter East. Sadeq sacrificed himself along with the Baron of Magnolias and around twenty assorted men from both districts willing to the corsairs. Sadeq and the Baron of Magnolias reached this agreement to save the corsairs from sacking Kusmu and burning the farms by giving willing able bodied workers. After Jasna's father disappeared, Bianca turned to the faith of most natives of Kusmu. Worship of the Insect Goddess Mellinora. A few years pass and just as her second brother (the 3rd child) was coming of age, Jasna met Hypsotis. A centaur druid who would teach Jasna the importance of bees not just to Kusmu and Zakhara, but the whole of Al-Toril. After spending around a year studying under Hypsotis, the ram centaur mysteriously disappeared leaving Jasna with a cryptic message: "Mellinora has fallen silent in anticipation....I believe that she is waiting to talk to you."

While the Maple family was immigrating to the city of Kusmu, Jasna's mother gave birth to her in the woods outside the city, shortly before their arrival. Jasna would be the eldest of 6 children, however, shortly after the birth of the 6th, Jasna's father was imprisoned by island invaders raiding to take slaves for the Utter East. The Maple's, as their name indicates, owned a large maple tree and sap farm on the outskirts of Kusmu. After Jasna's father disappeared, her mother turned to the faith of most natives of Kusmu. Worship of the Bee Goddess Mellinora. A Goddess of fertility, pollination, and bees who represents many things from honey and farming all the way to the more perverted interpretations like lust, and matriarchy. It was during this time that Jasna began to believe in the Tellings of Mellinora and bolstered her faith in the name of her mother.
