Living Jar

Originally created in an experiment by the sorcerer Master Lusat, these kind-hearted beings are tucked away in the west of Liurnia below the Carian Study Hall in a town called Jarburg. This isolation is self-imposed as a means of protecting themselves from poachers, as their innards are highly sought after by perfumers and mad sorcerers. Despite this, they remain good natured and are well-liked throughout the Lands Between. They are even permitted to step foot into the Royal Capital of Leyndell, one of the few non-human races welcomed with open arms.  

Driven Competitors

Whether their competitive natures are brought about by the wills of the humans that make up their inners, or whether it stems from an innate desire to prove themselves to be more than just a "living jar" to their creators, the race of the Living Jars is extremely competitive.   While they are a docile race as a whole, Jarburg is home to many fierce warriors, all of whom are sent out from their homes in order to become fine champions. This is done in hopes of challenging strong beings to later incorporate into themselves, strengthening themselves and future generations.  

Constitution

Living Jar Traits

Living Jars share a number of traits in common with each other.  

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 1.  

Stone’s Endurance

You can focus yourself to occasionally shrug off injury. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to roll a d12. Add your Constitution modifier to the number rolled and reduce the damage by that total. After you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.  

Mountain Born

You have resistance to cold damage. You’re also acclimated to high altitude, including elevations above 20,000 feet.  

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.  

Natural Athlete

You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.  

Age

Living Jars are dependent on the quality of the bodies within them. For as long as they have a fresh supply of bodies, they will not die of age.  

Size

Living Jars are between 8 and 9 feet tall and weigh between 800and 1200 pounds. Your size is Medium.  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.  

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Giant.
Though the jars are brought to life by human flesh and blood, they are all rather kindly folk. Perhaps they were made to be better than their innards.   Their fragments command a high price due to the magical power locked within. This leaves the living jars unfortunate targets for poachers.
