It is early in CY 591. Snow is still on the lower flanks of the Barriers as they stab into the Bramblewood. War of the last years has tired us all, especially those in the Littlemark, the border state of Bissel, a Ket protectorate and crossroads for all manner of people, goods, ideas, and threats. Former capital Thornward is a city divided, with wards and representatives of the nearby powers as decreed by pact. The new capital, Pellak, is distant to the south, and the centre of the Knights of the Watch.

But even as we get used to, though not necessarily accept, life post-war Bissel, there is much adventure to be found, and riches and notoriety for the strong and strong of will. The Barrier Peaks, the Lorridges, the Bramblewood, all at your feet. Political intrigues swirl through Thornward as do races, languages, plots, and promises in this region connecting east and west.
