Aremari
Look at the gleaming city, stained to its core by the blood of my comrades and the weight of what we have done. No god would be ill-regarded for wreaking vengeance upon it.The Aremari were a large adventuring and research collective, dedicated to finding a solution to the constant pull of the Current on their homes and lands. They were the masterminds behind the various 'stationary cities', and operated infrequently over the millennia before they were officially dissolved by Yllas Duphendri in 1965.
History
Beginning as a small adventuring party, the Aremari was properly formed at least a decade before the construction of Vilaen when its members realised they would need far more help if they were going to see their quest through. Many years were spent travelling the doomed lands to find experts in various fields, eventually reaching a membership of approximately 50. In ████, 20 of the Aremari mounted an attack on an all-powerful ██████████, who the organisation had identified as a possible solution to the problem of the current. Only 3 of these members would return - Rhizi Silin, Yllas Duphendri, and Xind Moonridge. With their victory, the Aremari set about using the █████ of their quarry to construct the first 'stationary city', Vilaen. The organisation's ranks fluctuated as people sought to assist in their efforts, and the group constructed four more stationary cities before their resources ran out. Efforts were mounted to find alternate ways of making cities unaffected by the current, and slowly, over the course of the centuries, more cities were built. Despite their best efforts, the Aremari was drawn into a conflict between the cities of ██████ and ███████████, with many of its members being forced into service to try and maintain both cities against the onslaught of their enemies. Ultimately, both cities were utterly destroyed, and in the aftermath Yllas Duphendri declared the group to be a purely research based organisation. This decree was reversed several centuries later with the return of Rhizi Silin, who had become a lich and used a powerful staff to wreak havoc. The members rallied one final time to defeat her, with Yllas claiming the staff and destroying her soul cage personally. Afterwards, the Aremari were formally disbanded, with Yllas determining that their knowledge was too dangerous.

Perhaps we saved the world. Or rather, perhaps you did. No-one would ever rise to your height and declare you a murderer. But I? No matter the crest I bear, I am deemed it. I bear the weight of what we have done more than any of us, hear the words of the faithful now abandoned. Will either of you, as we stand before this monument to our actions, recognize the crime?
