Abbit
Abbit is a cleric -- nay, the esteemed high priest -- of a mysterious god known as Hoo'Ax'Dyuu.
He is a member of a sapient frog species known as the Gero, native to the jungles of Windfall Island, but he seemingly cut ties with them several years ago. He now wanders the land with his dear friend, Krud. Together they travel throughout Verden spreading the word of Hoo'Ax'Dyuu to the people. And they make some coin on the side doing legitimate and less-than-legitimate work.

Backstory
Abbit was born on Windfall Island and was initially just another member of his tribe, barely distinguishable from his dozens of siblings. He rarely speaks of his time with the other Gero. When he does mention his homeland, his views are almost entirely negative. There's seemingly some bad blood there. Abbit typically describes the Gero tribe as being violent and devoid of any kind of compassion. The tribe's god was a being known as Gal'Rek the Great and Mighty. Creatures, prisoners, and other enthralled slaves would be regularly sacrificed to Gal'Rek as proof of the tribe's devotion. This practice would drive Abbit away from his people. Apparently, one of these sacrifices was a Zora noble named Lady Cassia, a death that seems to weigh heavily on his mind. He fled Windfall Island and, for the very first time, began to explore the greater continent of Verden. A bad pun would inadvertently alter his entire life. He accidentally invoked the name of Hoo'Ax'Dyuu with a rude town guard, "pretending" to be the cleric of "the one true god." Unfortunately, names have power. And that name was very much attached to an ancient spirit. Specifically, an ancient sentient weapon created by Lazu. Long passed over as a hexblade patron due to his underwhelming appearance, the ancient spiritual axe known as Hoo'Ax'Dyuu now found himself surging with true divine power. And in turn, he granted Abbit new divine power. It was a complete accident and twist of fate. As a novice cleric of Hoo'Ax'Dyuu, Abbit met and rescued a giant snapping turtle who had been turned onto his back in the middle of a town. Once calmed back down, the turtle transformed into an even more giant tortle. A weretortle? He introduced himself as Krud and pledged his loyalty to Abbit for saving his life. Abbit has effectively been treating Krud as his ward. Abbit helps him navigate through society, and Krud protects Abbit from harm.Hatena
After a few humble adventures, the pair were invited to become associate members of the Legends Alliance and pick up some contract work in Hatena. They took a ship across the Lalvican to reach the Free City, where they met Grandma Gertie, their new "handler." Gertie subsequently introduced Abbit and Krud to the greater party and sent them on a mission to rescue Kassan, another agent who had gone missing. After this, they were sent to eliminate Alleviator Torrin, an agent of Olimandias, before he could force Hatena to join the Olimandias Hegemony. Abbit has been traveling with the party ever since.Glenien and Beyond
In Glenien, he helped defeat the Scarred Devil and dismantled a warlock cult. In the Scarred Devil's lair, he found a magical sword embedded in a lunar rock and declared himself "the Moon King," a title which Queen Theodora kindly seemed to acknowledge, even if a little in jest. Of course, the sword was cursed and quickly given back to the royal family for safekeeping. But the title remains. He also commissioned the repair of an Ancient Sword and Shield from the Clocktown era, and is now armed with another cool sword to make up for the loss of his Moon Sword. As his divine powers have grown, so has his connection to Hoo'Ax'Dyuu. Abbit was entirely convinced his god was a figment of his own imagination, up until the moment that Hoo'Ax'Dyuu finally manifested in his dreams. Hoo'Ax'Dyuu appeared just as confused by their relationship and angrily desired to know how Abbit found him! He can't be responsible for clerics and new followers! The experience left Abbit a little shaken and alarmed. A subsequent communion in Saravoss established that Hoo'Ax'Dyuu was once a spirit, and Abbit's accidental invoking of his name has somehow transformed him into a lesser deity. But neither of them necessarily know what he's the god of. Hoo'Ax'Dyuu affirmed that he has Abbit's back and they'll figure this whole thing out together. He thinks it's important to be honest, since those other gods suck and just tell you to listen to your heart. Also, if Abbit ever has a moment, maybe he could free Hoo'Ax'Dyuu? He's trapped in the back of some blue-haired katana-wielding adventurer named Gabe and he doesn't have hands, so he can't free himself. Thanks. From this encounter, Abbit also learned that his former god was really a fiend, and this fiend may be preventing Zora clerics from resurrecting Lady Cassia. Hoo'Ax'Dyuu has says that it's important to keep his friends close, as more friends means having more hands to tackle bigger problems. After all, Hoo'Ax'Dyuu has zero hands and is currently trapped in the back of some blue-haired katana master named Gabe. Maybe Abbit could free him sometime?Social
Religious Views
His god is Hoo'Ax'Dyuu, who manifests as a sacred axe with googly eyes and big, angry eyebrows. Abbit thought he'd made him up. Apparently not. What happens when your fake religion is suddenly revealed to be real?
Social Aptitude
Despite being an outsider, Abbit is often the party's negotiator and source of sensible decision making. A position that Abbit is probably horrified to find himself in. Though seemingly interested in coin on the surface level, he has also demonstrated considerable altruism and a desire to help others (coin is just a really nice bonus). Abbit offers sage advice with a jolting hit of sarcasm often tacked on for free.
