Satrap Amaya Navaris

Amaya Navaris is most powerful satrap in Lanasach and is currently the elected head of state. Amaya was the only current satrap to be born a commoner. She rose through the ranks of the Lanasach Guard and was formally adopted by her own satrap, who later died without having had biological children. She is a renowned martial artist and a natural leader. While she is cooperative in public, her relationship with Olimandias and its leadership is.... icy at best.

Amaya is considered very tall (over 6') and strong for a human. Coupled with red tints in her otherwise dark hair, this has led to rumors that Amaya is partly descended from the Gerudo tribes.

Personal history

Amaya was born a commoner in western Lanasach and performed so well at her rural school that she earned an early admission into one of Plentrich's esteemed universities. She soon transferred to a military academy and was trained extensively in martial arts. She joined the Lanasach Guard as a junior officer. Most of her duties were domestic protection -- fighting desert bandits, monsters, and pirates -- but she was occasionally deployed throughout Verden to combat the enemies of the Olimandias hegemony. 
After several years of foreign service, Amaya returned home to serve as the champion of her home province, commanding the troops and directly protecting her satrap. The last of her line and unable to have children, Satrap Valeria Navaris quickly bonded with Amaya. Proud of Amaya's many accomplishments and natural sense of leadership, Valeria formally adopted her as a daughter. This would prevent a succession crisis and, perhaps more importantly to Valeria, leave the provincial government in the hands of someone who could do great things for their people.
Amaya has been a highly successful satrap, and was recently elected by a council of her peers to serve as Lanasach's head of state. She is three years into her term.
